Omega 3's and lowering Inflammation

I am always telling my patients in St. Louis Park about how Omega-3 fatty acids are crucial for helping us with lowering overall inflammation within our bodies. In today’s society, everything you eat at restaurants and definitely fast food is processed. Processed is not pure and it’s pumped with many different things, therefore you’re taking the Omega-3 and converting it to an Omega-6. Although our bodies need Omega-6’s we really need Omega-3 to lower inflammation and chronic diseases as well and eggs contain the EPA and DHA fatty acids that we need to contain. This is an easy meal to make that takes no time, but it will also help lower inflammation with Omega-3! What I love about this meal is not only the taste but the fact that it’s also high in protein as well. Not only are you fighting off inflammation, but you’re also fueling your body with good high-quality protein to make sure your body not only function the way it needs to, but also heal from the inside. I did some research for all of you on eggs and the health benefits they have to offer.

This quote is a little summary of the research findings.

“A traditional n−3 PUFA source to be added to hens’ diet is flaxseed, a plant source rich in α-linolenic acid. Alternatively, hens are often fed fish oil, which is rich in long chain n−3 PUFA eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).” “In addition, n−3 PUFA have been reported to play a role in prevention and treatment of many other chronic diseases, such as neurological disorders, cancer, inflammatory diseases, obesity and diabetes mellitus.”

There are many supplements’ people could find to try and find a “shortcut” to losing weight or just becoming healthier. What they don’t realize, is there is no shortcut when it comes to your health and lowering inflammation. There is only action, and the action you have to take is the non-processed foods, non-concentrated foods, and making sure you’re not putting junk into your body. It’s really simple to make sure you are putting the right stuff into your body, but it’s even easier to get fast food or something already made at a restaurant, right? Wrong. You’ll realize that your energy will arise, your strength and immune system will be even stronger. You’ll realize you won’t be getting as sick as other people you may know of all because you’re putting the right stuff into your body. Your inflammation will lower and your overall performance in life in general will grow. Healing takes place within, so make sure you’re putting the right stuff into your body so you can feel the best you should feel.
