Decrease Inflammation & Detox

with Green Smoothies

Video by Dr. Antonio Flaquer

The majority of patients who come into the office are dealing with some type of pain which is another word for inflammation. Inflammation (or pain) starts because of not eating the right stuff, moving your joints the way should be moving (exercise), and of course managing your stress poorly. The key to getting started is making sure you’re putting the right stuff into your bodies. Inflammation can start in a lot of places within ourselves, but where it happens mostly is in the gut flora. You might’ve heard of a common term called leaky gut. Leaky gut is a term used for certain chemicals passing through the cell wall within your gut, arising inflammation in your body and not allowing the healing process to take place. This can be prevented by making sure you’re on a good probiotic. A probiotic has good bacteria that fights off the bad bacteria within your gut to make sure the inflammation stays lowered and essential fatty acids don’t pass through. But, a probiotic alone won’t do the trick. You must make sure you’re putting the right stuff into your bodies and make sure you’re getting the proper micronutrients you should be getting in your daily diets. I can tell you right now, the U.S right now is not getting the proper nutrients since we have tons of fast food and processed foods all around. This is why it’s critical to take the steps to make sure you replenish your body the right way so you can heal the way it should. The big topic of this smoothie is cherries and the health benefits of them. They are enriched with antioxidants, they help reduce the effects of chronic inflammation, they can also help lower cholesterol and many other benefits. The biggest thing you should know is everything I listed out, all of them help with decreasing inflammation and detoxing within the body. This is a super easy recipe to blend up to make sure you’re promoting healing and lowering your overall pain. Treat your body how you want to be treated, healthy and happy. Here is some information about the benefits of cherries.

“Several studies have shown that the prevention of cancer, cardiovascular disease and obesity are beneficial health effects attributable to phytocompounds found in fruits and vegetables.”

“The significant decrease of markers of inflammation and oxidative stress afforded by cherries and derivates may have implications for the management of clinical pathologies associated with high levels of inflammation and oxidative stress and suggests that their consumption may have the potential to reduce cardiovascular or chronic diseases in humans.”
